Woah, wait a minute. "Pre-order to unlock Axel." Does that mean you have to pre-order to get him, or can you unlock him through the game somehow if you don't pre-order?

EDIT: By through the game, I mean something along the lines of beat the game once.

If by "through the game" you mean you mean "accessing the DLC through the game to buy it a month later " then you're probably fine.

Again, one of my most anticipated games. Problem is that watching gameplay sucks, you gotta play the game to appreciate it.

Story stuff looks bad ass, though!

Hrmmm. Can't say. I'd need to play a demo. TM2 didn't make me jump up and down (I'm a heretic, I know)... but I loved Interstate '76... 
 
Maybe it's the thrash metal in the trailer (which just seems so... expected... and... uncreative...) that makes me go "Meh."

I bought a PS1 for Twisted Metal 2 but I'm not sure if I'm still into the car combat thing. I'm a little intrigued by what appears to be an Ecto-1 paintjob on that hearse, though.

The characters have always been one of the best parts of the games, that and the music. 
  
 
Which is why I'm a little annoyed at the fact that they changed Dollface's backstory, her origional one is much better.

Why does it look like a multi-platform game? It should look a lot better than this for a PS3 exclusive or is it 60fps which could explain the lackluster graphics?

@Dooftastic: I agree with you. Some of the endings in the Twisted Metal series redeem some of the characters, but by and large that game's story is not great. "God destroyed my face, so naturally competing in an underground, car-combat tournament is the way to get it back. You know, instead of seeing another doctor."

 @Origina1Penguin: While I can't answer if Axel itself is unlockable during the game, from what I understand Axel the character doesn't appear in the game - you just get to drive his vehicle.  
 
Not really a fan of the whole "hey check out this thing in our game" only to find out a few months later it's a pre-order bonus. It just creates confusion, and makes me wonder if I'll have access to it later on, or if I need to throw down money for it. The last exam was the man-a-pult Saints Row Vehicle. It was one of the main highlights in the E3 demo, but now it's one of the main pre-order selling points. Thus, confusion is created once again. 
 
Also, not my Dollface. Bring back the Black version please.

 That's how pre-orders should be done. Pre-order game and unlock an in-game item that will come to others over time... at no extra cost. I hope to see more of these type of pre-order incentives.
