E3 2016: Emily is a Pale Shadow of a Woman in Dishonored 2

I am all over this. Dishonored is legit.

So that's the high chaos trailer, then.

I'm not nervous about this game anymore. :)

All I want is for Bethesda to stay out of Arkane's way, and they've historically been good about that so I'm not worried. And this could be the first game in awhile to actually benefit from id Tech 5 - it's a specialised game engine that has a strict set of use cases. Great ragdolls, static lighting, and tons of decals all match Dishonored's visual style to a "T".

Is that Kaldwin's Bridge at 1:44? It looks like that bit with the tram, and to the player's right was a nobleman's house.

I could say there's things I'd want Arkane to flesh out or mechanics to make more complementary, but I just want them to make another game at this point.

@infantpipoc: For sure. But advertising all the amazing ways you can kill people then scolding you with a bad ending for using them is a weird mixed message isn't it?

it looks like it could be the game that Bioshock Infinite ought to have been. Intriguing.

Goddamn, yes! The first game was so much fun ghosting. I hope the non-lethal solutions are just as fun this time.

I was already sold on Dishonored 2, but this has sealed the deal. Never had as much fun doing stealth as in Dishonored original, so can't wait to do the same again.

The footage they showed last night looked a lot better than I was expecting, and I'm saying that as someone who really liked that first game. Also, I'm torn on who to play as it seems like Emily is the way to go, but Corvo is voiced by freakin' Garrett.

Maybe I'll just do a kill 'em all playthrough as Emily and a stealth playthrough as Corvo for old times' sake.

Inception gaves us 'BWAAAAAH!' in every movie and game trailer.

Now Guardians of the Galaxy gives us remixed classic rock in every movie and game trailer.

(Still better than the dubstep era.)

Oh shit, the woman Corvo was fighting was Delilah from the first game's Daud DLC.

Curious. Emily is all grown up now.

Didn't care for the original Dishonored, but was open to this one being more my thing. I don't think it is, though. Everything seems very stilted to me, especially the hand to hand combat.

@blainnewport: I wouldn't call it a punishment. The High Chaos ending was much, much cooler than the Low Chaos ending.

This has the same level designer as Half Life 2 as well! :)
