Why would you want to play a demo of a game you've already pre-ordered? That's just silly.

This game isn't coming out, guys. Seriously, now.

I know Giant Bomb has mad love for Randy Pitchford and Gearbox et al, but this First Access Club stuff is pretty gross marketing.

They're desperate to lock in these pre-orders, moreso as every day between now and the release date goes by.
Because the game is going to be critically pannnnnnned at release, and even the demo is probably gonna catch a lotta flak.

So you don't want them to advertise the game at all then? Just drop it on store shelves with no warning, that would be a great way to sell copies.

I think by first access, they mean people who pre-order get the demo first, then once it's out, everyone else gets it. Right? Surely...

Just torrent it for a 'demo' if you're so inclined. That's right, I said it. Please torrent this game if you'd like to try it out and buy it if you like it. Gearbox said it as much with their marketing.

I like the style in which they produce these trailers, but the gross "Pre-order our fucking game!" marketing is kind of distasteful.

Demos are to see if you want a game...
