Giant Trucks Still Seek Hedgehog Blood in Sonic Generations

I am honestly surprised at how nice this game is shaping up. I heard some good things about Sonic Colors and so maybe they've finally climbed away form the bottom of the barrel. Good for Sega.

Well, I guess theres nowhere left to go but up for Sonic right?

Looks like they brought back the idea for the truck chase part from Stage One: Escape from the City in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I have high hopes that this game will finally deliver a Sonic game that is just as awesome and fun as the games of old.

I just hope they don't forget about At Dawn, the best song from Sonic Adventure. I really want to hear some remixes of that.

Spoilers: Sonic Unleashed was pretty decent, and Sonic Colors was legitimately fun. There is a possibility Sonic Generations will actually be a good game!

Good to see Sega following the uplift from Sonic Colors. Generations is looking quite nice.

sonic adventure 2.... the last good one.... and even it had its moments of being a shitty game. city escape was a cool zone tho.

I don't doubt that PARTS of Generations will be fun, but will the rest of the game be worth enduring to get to those fun parts?

Sonic Unleashed(360/PS3) is an excellent game if you know how to play it properly, Eggman Land can eat a d**k though.

God, this is so true. Yes, the game has some pretty crazy quirks to it that would understandable discourage people from giving it a fair shot, but there are few things as exhilarating and exciting in gaming than nailing a near perfect run of a daytime stage in Sonic Unleashed HD.

I've been following Sonic Generations like a hawk and can't wait to play it.

This time it's just Sonic guys! Only except now it's also Shadow...

Actually Colors had just Sonic and that was decent for the most part, even good in some spots.

Whatever, I doubt the controls will be any better than the last few games, which means they'll be barely bearable.

I thought they grouped Sonic Adventure 2 into modern because... wait, are they implying even though there's only 2 Sonics, there's 3 styles of play? That's not very obvious because you'd think since there are only 2 Sonics, there'd only be 2 modes of play, one where you play as Sonic and the other where you play as Sonic. To think there's a third type of gameplay where you play as one of the aforementioned Sonics... that just doesn't make sense.

They sort of had me going, the music is nice and I like how they're just doing the Sonic Colors platforming in HD...

And then they showed Shadow. And I said "FUCK THIS".

So...where does Shadow put us into the "Sonic Cycle" now?

I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the original box art style Sonic games had in Japan in the 90's.

All of the 16-bit Japanese Sonic games had box art that looked like this.

Having you play as Sonic Adventure-era Sonic doesn't really make any sense because that would basically be a slower "Modern" Sonic that couldn't boost.

Just so people know Shadow is NOT a playable character in the story he is one of the Rival Boss Battles and you will be racing him through a level just like Metal Sonic.

This game is going to suck. I really wish it wouldn't. But it will.

They are really cranking out Sonic games lately, aren't they. I completely lost track of which are supposed to be the "proper" Sonic games and which are just sideline projects.

Sonic Adventure 2 was actually one of my favourite games ever back in the day, loved it!

If this game has parts of that then I'm so in.

Looks OK, but considering Sonic's track record for the last decade, they're probably going to fuck it up.

Ugh people just can't let go of the shit. Shadow is just a boss fight! Hes not playable! The recent games have been fine. Unleashed day was a step in the right direction. Colors was great. 4 is ok (depends on preference). All star racing was as good as mario kart with some sweet tracks. The handheld games have for the most part been a blast. Yes 06 was probably one of the worst major games this gen and is utter shit along with black knight...they were awful games but jeeze get over it and try the game before dumping on it.

I love how Sega's idea for making Shadow a badass anti-hero was having him be a black hedgehog.

To be honest I might buy this game for nostalgia's sake, the last decent sonic games were the dreamcast ones, the rest after that were fucking horrible.

Shame about shadow being in it but I wouldn't mind if he was just an optional character skin or something.
