I like it and would buy it but their is no way I'm paying a monthly fee for this game. It just doesn't look interesting enough to pay a monthly fee for.

For the uninformed - the monthly fee is optional (allows you to participate in the larger scale PVP stuff). While I'm not sure how the non-fee'd game holds up, at least you have the option.

These CG trailers are awful. With he exception of the melee weapons the game isn't nearly this ridiculous.  I would highly recommand it to anyone that liked Tribes, TF2 or Halo.

I preordered it to check it out. After about 3 hours I contacted steam support and asked them to reverse the charges. It's nothing like planetside, it's more of a cross between Crimecraft and Section 8.

It offers match based gameplay with a graphical lobby. The open, persistent world of Planetside (and other MMOs) is not present. Why pay a monthly fee to fight in dinky arenas?

It has a persistent metamap ala risk or dune2. You don't have to participate in it if you don't want to, and can play in this fashion (basically like any other multiplayer shooter) without paying a monthly fee. You only have to subscribe for the territorial control.
