this looks great, but I really wish it wasnt coming out on last gen. while it looks great at night, the daytime stuff gets old pretty fast, it just doesnt look that great. oh well ill probably end up getting this on sale eventually anyway lol

It brought me out of it when they described RAY as an "Amphibious Nuclear-Equipped walking Battle Tank".

Did Kojima get his facts messed up, or were those titles screwed-up/only included in the translation?

Incidentally, Kojima actually elaborated on the Gundam-style Metal Gear on Twitter; it's actually not intended as a mecha reference at all

@theterriblefamiliar: You would have a fun gameplay experience with a rather hard to understand overall story. Can't speak to how you'd handle the A to B of the in-game plot though. I say just play MGSV anyway, if you're confused but like what you're seeing, go back and play the old games after that. (I don't think playing a PS1 game in 2015 is the best first impression for someone to get.)

i know i've never been the biggest fan of MSG despite growing up on it but thanks to all of metal gear scanlon i doubt i would have been nearly as excited for this it's just sad it had to end like this.

There is an OST coming out for TPP, so maybe Quiet's theme has two versions (one with, and without lyrics).

I have never played a MGS game but I have watched almost all of MGScanlon. It was slog at the start but now I'm way into it; so into it in fact that there's a chance I might actually play V myself.

Aside from that though, two questions:

Why is the Metal Gear called Sahelanthropus? I mean, I get why Kojima would call it that, buy what possible reason would it's in universe designers have. What is this brand new design the missing step of? (Nevermind. Just watched Peace Walker) (Also, Sahelanthropus was discovered in 2001 which is so unimportant that I shouldn't have even mentioned it).

But two, and far more importantly, why the hell are people naming that dick gun wielder Metal Gear Gundam? It's a bloody Metal Gear Orbital Frame! (sans-orbital, clearly).

Jesus the scale of this thing is insane. And the production values! The V teaser after the credits; the slightly shakey, uneven camera angles swooping onto Boss's face and the focus blur, everything about this is just amazingly well put together. I've never seen anything like this, not even in any blockbuster movie. Cliche but it sent a shiver up my spine. Just incredible work... So psyched.

...Did Kojima die or something? This is a game with a sniper trotting around in a bikini, pinups on boxes and playboys... like... This is far to serious a trailer for the game...

I'm a little concerned about how the technology seems to be completely and utterly out of place for the 80s. I mean, this looks like the most technologically advanced metal gear in the whole saga, minus Arsenal Gear. I hope I can suspend my disbelief enough.

When I watched it I saw that small shot as going through the stages of Big Bosses life.

- Big Boss during "Snake Eater" wearing the sneaking suit.

- Big Boss during "Peacewalker".

- "Ground Zeroes" Big Boss

- "MGSV" Big Boss

- "Solid Snake" Big Boss after Snake sets him on fire in the final battle

- Big Bosses remains when the Patriots takes his body and keeps it alive using nanomachines and drugs.

Having given up on the main series after MGS2 and all it's nonsense, I think I can safely wait on this one till a price drop of some kind. I know people here are hyped but the only MG game I had fun with since MGS1 was Revengeance. I know it wasn't a main line game in the series, but at least the insanity felt normal there considering it's premise.

Enjoy your Metal Gundam all the same though folks! I'll be playing Mad Max which, for some absurd reason, comes out the same day as MGSV
