Hopefully, they will set up the couches and shit for the TNT and happy hour (lets hope that stays around). Let's also hope that they don't do Green Screen and instead make ir charming with real world aesthetics, like the wood panels in the first office.

How to Build A Bomb, version 2?

@jakkblades It's kind of boring to broadcast a bunch of dudes sitting on a couch in a pure white room having a conversation, don't you think? They do a lot of crazy stuff with green screen, which is whatever crazy frankenstein concoction they can think to surround themselves with.

But to me, making it feel homely and have character is part of the warming feeling I get from watching Giantbomb, all the way back to the beginning when they finished with the flea bomb. Classical couch and wood panelling complemented that old school video gaming environment nicely. The basement where they had the couches and the brickwall worked out well. It made videos feel like this was a great hang out spot for everyone involved, including the viewers. Not giving the new offices some of their own character would be a great injustice to the viewers.

I don't know if you watched the interview Jeff did with On The Spot after the news hit, but everything about it felt bad to me. The edges around Jeff and John, and their chairs were very jaggedy. I even saw the background shift a couple of times. Giantbomb does enough great things with green screens already, but substituting a background for every TNT/Happy Hour would just lose all it's life and vigor.

@Brad it's not so much you were loud but that everyone else was too quiet. Damn cell phones.

I'm really hoping the new funding will have room in the budget for some commissioned paintings of the crew.

If not, I say they should in fact do some paintings of themselves and hang them on the walls.

Moving up in the world maybe someday you guys will get a penthouse office.

The Gerstmann returning to GameSpot...this is just a bit too surreal for me. I never thought this would ever happen--scratch that--this result never even entered my mind that it could happen let alone would, yet here we are. This entire thing is a little weird, but I wish them luck. It's definitely going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I started listening to the proto-bombcasts when APD had just uploaded its second episode. I was hooked, and then GB launched, and Brad and Vinny came on-board, and over the years it's grown and grown and become such a treasure trove of entertaining, informative video game coverage and general amusement. And now it's all looped back to where it started.

Also yeah, the only thing I can really hope for is that the site maintains its integrity and its general "we do whatever the fuck we want" vibe. I don't think anyone at GB has any intention of changing that, so here's hoping.

@Brad@Jeff Use your painting in place of Name tags at your desks. I think hanging them over the desk from the ceiling would be ideal.
