Rocket League Rolling Onto Xbox One in February

I still wish the Psyonix team had told Microsoft to eat a dick until they get rid of their ridiculous stance on playing with people on other systems (PC, PS4).

Now they can sell more than 1 copy.

I've been super jealous of PS4 owners over this game. I can't wait to finally play it! Do you think it will come out of the gates free like it did on PS4 or do you think it will have a price attached to it now that they know it can be a serious money maker? Whatever it is I will pay it.

If Psyonix knew how successful the game was going to be I don't think they would've put it on PS+. Although MS might be willing to pay a premium to get it on Games with Gold just so that it doesn't look like they got one up'ed by Sony.

idk, $20 for the game, 3 dlcs and exclusive gears and halo gear seems pretty reasonable. plus the game already has great word of mouth. i think it will do fine on xbone. bummer you cant cross play though

Yep. It's a great game and suddenly an awful lot of PS+ subscribers realized this at once and the game got instant-critical mass.
I'm a PC player, not touched a PS in many many years, but couldn't avoid the internet being full of excited players, their reviews, their videos etc - so picked up the game (for a very reasonable price) - and instantly had PS4 people to play with whilst I bullied my PC friends to cough up over the next few months of addiction.

If you make a great single player game, you can build an audience over time to cult classic on slow word of mouth (the Psychonauts 2 crowd-funding thingie proves this).
I can't think of any multiplayer game that's ever managed to do this. You need to get people playing, keep them playing and get them to recruit new players. Once you've hit this critical mass you're fine, the core keep playing, will buy DLC/map-packs/whatever to cover on-going server costs etc.

Definitely wont be free. Now they know they can made some serious cash.

Shame there's no cross play but I don't think anyone way expecting any different really.

@silenceuk: The xbox/PC crossplay is exclusive to Windows 10. Sony has been allowing Rocket League play between PC and PS4 since release. They've shown no opposition to allowing crossplay with Xbox (since it's all on Psyonix' infrastructure, not the PS network).

@gravytrain: If crossplay isn't allowed then I would like to find out where it stopped and why from a real source not from people on internet forums spouting whatever they please.

Because people jumping down Phil Spencer's throat like he has total control over Microsoft's stance is complete BULL. We're going full Reddit hunting Boston Bomber here. Nobody knows exactly what is causing the hold and we have yet to hear 100% that crossplay will never happen. However 99% of any forum online has decided that it's entirely microsoft and that by proxy this is all Spencers fault...

Everyone needs to chill out for a minute and push for the facts to be explained.
