Cool seeing a controller with the face plate taken off.

Maby the reason the unboxing was so haphazard was because we'll get one of these videos for each of the components. (as in kinect, headset, console, not GPU, CPU etc.)

I really hate the blindingly obvious ABXY letters. It makes the controller look like an early learning toy.

Everyone is on that bandwagon. Haven't you seen the poll results from around the internet? 80% of gamers are getting a PS4. I'm sure that number has changed a bit since Microsoft did a 360 on their DRM stance, but most of us haven't forgotten about the shit they tried to pull. They lost a lot of loyal fans.

Yah, they think we're dumb by basically telling us what the button is made of. The guy is an engineer, you can tell that to Major Nelson and probably most other people that will ever use the controller, this is just a button - but to that engineer it is hours upon hours of work which is why he's so adamant about pointing out how it's not just a button because they spent ages making the damn thing and are super proud of it.

But no man, you're right, they just think we're idiots! Where is Sony I need to watch a video for real gamers!

You would think, in 2013 we would have evolved just a bit past the petty console war bullshit, yet I'm literally still seeing the same jokes and jabs that I was reading back in the PS2 era.

Hello new PC controller.

Did they confirm the firmware is still the same though? Something something DirectInput API, something something.

In other words, I don't know the technical details - but I didn't know if they confirmed that the Xbox One's controller compatibility will remain status quo with PC's as the current wired Xbox controller does.

Quick,someone ask Mattrick his opinion so he can recommend an Xbox 360 controller!

I like their tech guy - seems genuinely passionate and amiable. Good presentation and certainly got me a little more excited to try it out eventually.

It's really fucking nice (played it at SDCC). The trigger vibration is bonkers.

I hope in the kinect video they show how to throw it in the garbage.

@andorski: I think that would be a no brainer. I don't see any reason for Mincrosoft not to have the controller PC compatible.

Anyways, I'm all for a better controller. Love using the 360 controller on my PC.

Wait so you can wire up any controller to the system and input then goes over USB but you can't power and charge it over USB?

@syed117: Seems like a really stupid reason.

It's been awhile since I've done any marathon sessions, but for me it was the side of my fingertip that rubbed right against the hole, not necessarily how hard I was holding it, that was the issue.

I'm sorry my comment made you sad. I'm not trying to hurt the industry, I promise. I don't feel that we need to accept everything that is announced about these new consoles because they have the potential to help the industry. Something like the Kinect is a mixed bag. Some people are fans but some people just aren't. I bought the first iteration and felt like I was swindled. I see no reason to believe the improvements they've made fix the experience that the first one offered.

It didn't work remotely as well as they claimed it would and the whole act of hovering my hand over buttons and waiting for it to confirm my decision was terrible.

I am just against the idea of making an online connected camera a mandatory accessory for someones gaming console. Something like that should be a choice and it bothers me that the console won't even function without it plugged in. I don't think the ends justify the means in the slightest and the only reason it is in the box is because they know they wouldn't sell them unless they were.

I probably should be more open minded. I am not trying to hurt the GB community. I just don't like the Kinect and made a stupid joke. It's the reason I am not getting an Xbox One.

Gotta admit, these guys make me just want to kiss that controller and hug it. All the time making me feel oddly classy as I do it.

Don't plan on buying any new consoles, but this looks good. Being wire-optional is great.

Straight up, the controller is always more important than the box so I'm glad they took the time and energy to try and perfect it.

Looks nice! Don't know if I needed that video to be honest, I'd rather have a gaming website describe it or gamers, not PR and the guy who worked on making it. Bias bias bias.

I have a kinect and, as long as you keep your expectations in check, it's actually a pretty cool piece of hardware. It won't change your life, but it has it's uses. It made my Forza Horizon experience a lot more fun keept me out of the map and on the road.

My ultimate test of a controller is if I can easily throw a hadouken and dragon punch in sequence, with no trouble. I hope this one can deliver!

Yea, when I really feel like these videos are pretty well done, the engineer guy seemed really about what they had done and I don't get the MN complaints at all, also I am buying a PS4 at launch so no fanboism here just don't get the hate, MAN Whhaaaaaaaa!
