Watch_Dogs Won Many E3 Awards, Apparently

All of which are completely real and in no way incorrect, as of now anyway. [NOTE: This video has been updated to remove our previously erroneous inclusion in the awards list.]

It has potential to be one of the coolest games ever. but it can also turn out really bad because it's so hyped.

Actually, the only thing that can make this game great at this point is if they nail immersion. If it's really as immersive as it seems, I think it will be a great game. But if it's not... it will have to fall back on its gameplay systems and I think those don't seem that great to be honest. It doesn't look like there is a lot of skill involved. I don't think it looks bad, I just think it looks like one of those styles of gameplay where immersion really brings it to life.

Also, my browser tells me immersive isn't a word. I never knew. Non-native speakers must be pissing you guys off all the time. I'm almost glad I'm not one.

I almost don't want to buy this game because of the phony Giant Bomb "best of show" award. Don't get me wrong I will still buy Watch Dogs for the fake future Chicago, but giving themselves awards that don't exist is crappy.

I was under the impression that publishers needed explicit or some sort of verbal permission to use quotes this way.

hah, remember when you wrote that paper for school and had to call up James Joyce and ask him for permission to quote him

You guys should do an annual feature where you award it to whoever tells you they won it.

Has to be giantbomb.ru...

In Soviet Russia, Game of the Show chooses you!

On the one hand, you're thinking of gamebomb.ru... but on the other hand, if someone actually quoted Russian Knockoff Giant Bomb in actual press marketing, it would be one of the dumbest/best things ever. I'm torn...

That is literally comparing oranges to not-oranges. One is an academic paper - the other is a marketing video. One requires permission more than the other. Not sure why you'd be under the impression these are the same...

Am I the only person that doesn't give a shit? Who actually reads those quotes anyway? Is little Tommy sitting there going "oh snap, GB gave it game of show. Now I have to buy it". Anyone who knows Giant Bomb would be on here and fully aware of this game. With the amount of coverage it has been getting you've pretty much made up your mind already. A single quote from a trailer isn't gong to sway you now.

At 1:06 it attributes "Best of Show" to Gamespot. Is it possible it was an honest mistake to put it as a GiantBomb quote at the end of the trailer?

Yeah, I think that's what happened as well. Whoever cut this trailer either made a mistake, or did not know that Gamespot and GiantBomb are not the same, despite both being owned by CBSI.

But this is still pretty funny !

Well if they didn't know the difference between GB and GS, it's still time to bring on the pitchforks :)

I don't think they should have removed it. Instead, they should have replaced it with something that they would have said like "It doesn't look terrible" or "Looks like a lot like all the other Ubisoft games."

With that said, I'm still excited for the game. Only next gen game that I've seen that makes me want a Next Generation console.

Hey @alex, real talk: how many irritated phone calls and emails had to be sent from Giant Bomb/CBSi to Ubisoft to rectify this sort of gaffe?
