I didn't like XIII and only sort of liked XIII-2 but I'm kind of looking forward to this. I don't know why.

Glad to see Square Enix got it's money's worth out of this engine. Too bad about about the actual games though.

FF13 killed the Final Fantasy brand for me. Didn't even finish it, ignored the sequel, and hearing the name of future titles does nothing for me anymore. I used to love FF games.

Do the graphics look like garbage to anyone else. It also seemed to be more action based compared to the previous ones. Overall, this was a terrible trailer but I'm kinda excited about this. I didn't hate 13 or 13-2 and both had really good elements

I don't like Lightning's costume as much as the first XIII, but it's way better looking than her outfit in XIII-2.

I guess I didn't notice that, I agree its kinda sad. I don't mind things changing in FF but for me having a crew you roll around with is pretty key.

I've only watched Square Enix efforts with Final Fantasy 13 but Lightning Returns looks interesting enough for me to pick it up some time. Or maybe I just like the crazy idea of jumping in to the last game of a trilogy too much. That probably won't be a problem since all I've heard of the Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2 narrative is that it is a bunch of nonsense.

@RecSpec: Well seeing as they've LITERALLY DELAYED IT FOR AN ENTIRE GENERATION, I don't see why this isn't a possibility in the future.

@kerse: Yeah, kind of like the whole shop/town system thing they got rid of in FF13.

I will say I won't fault them for trying something new.

I understand exactly why these sequels exist, but I so wish it was a different Final Fantasy that could be getting this treatment. It's extremely sad that the only console RPGs we're getting from SE are sequels to a game that was almost universally panned as the weakest (except for FF2) in the entire series.

I think this is what happens when you are an overseas out-of-office correspondent - you don't know when to stop working.

This should be a dlc.
