Concept
Often these achievements are awarded first to a player who has played with, killed, or been killed by a developer of the game. Then, any other player who performs that same action to the player with the achievement will also earn the achievement. Due to the nature of these achievements, they are often hard to come by when the game first comes out, but become easier to come by the more people play. Eventually, it gets to the point where almost everyone has it, and it becomes nearly impossible to not earn the achievement.
Examples
- In Red Faction: Guerrilla, after you beat the single player campaign, there's an achievement/trophy for playing online with another player who has beaten the single player campaign.
- In Brutal Legend, there's an achievement/trophy for playing an online game with Tim Schafer, or playing someone with that achievement.
