    Overview

    The game takes place in "60 interstellar levels" which are all space themed but differ slightly by zone and stage. Each level shows the classic Angry Birds gameplay of using a slingshot to fire a variety of birds in an attempt to destroy the green pigs. Once each level is finished you are given a three star rating based upon your score. The main gameplay innovation is the inclusion of planetary gravity in a similar way to Gravity Wars.

    On February 17th, 2012 a new site was released at: www.angrybirds.com/space with a teaser video and wallpaper. Then after two more teasers there was an official announcement on March 8th, 2012 showing an updated website and a video that featured NASA astronauts.

    When the game was released worldwide on March 22, 2012 it went straight to number 1 on the iOS App Store.
