So my 360 has finally given me the red ring of death. I'm pretty impressed though, as this was a launch day 360. I never had any issues with it. It was a good console. But sadly, it's time has come to an end. I'm currently overseas in Iraq and had my xbox shipped to me. It even made the trip over the ocean and still worked! But I guess Iraq finally got the best of it. Not bad for an almost 4 year old console, coming from the batch that of xbox's that seemed to break early on. Add an overseas shipping trip and 4 good running months in Iraq and I'd say I got my money's worth.
Anyone else still running on a launch day console without any issues?

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
It finally died...
I was hoping that this thread would be about Chris Brown.
Well, this death is unfortunate. Sorry to hear it, man. I'm currently on console #3.
4 years isn't good for a console at all unless it is in the context of a Xbox 360. I am currently on my third. My launch console died 18 months ago. I still have the carcass. My second one I got the Pro and it lasted my until about 6 months ago. Now I am on the Elite and so far so good but I have only had it for around 3 months or so.
I know how you feel. I'm stuck with 3 Wii games I can't play because my Wii keeps choking on them and spitting them back up. Does Best Buy sell the stuff you'd need to fix a game system (lens cleaning kit, as I've heard), or do I have to order that crap online?
" I'm on my fourth 360 and I never had a launch console "Holy shit.
How glad I am I went with PS3 from the start.
That's not a bad run at all. Too bad it happened though.
Since you're in Iraq, I guess I could say good morning to you and good night to me.

I don't know if it will fix the issue you're having, though.
Hey also I'm on my first console it has turned 1yrs old and has gotten 3RROD but it fixed itself and then it had some weird shit with the controllers and not wanting to use them for over 2 mins and just giving up, to come to no sense of control at all after about a month got it fixed. I know only play some games somethings but RB2 always!!!!
Console #3 here, although I upgraded from a Pro because A ) I had a problem that I didn't figure out how to fix until months later, and B) I wanted a 120GB HDD.

Pre-owned 360 got it from a Pawn shop never died on me and the thing is kinda quite (strange) 3yrs and still going strong
LOL
How sad is it that because of how fucking ridiculously widespread this problem is, the OP is IMPRESSED?!
" @Hailinel said:Well, without knowing the specifics of the issue, I can't say for sure. Well, without knowing the specifics of the issue, I can't say for sure. Your best bet would be to call Nintendo's support line and see what they have to say about the issue. "All right then, the specifics:
It all started this summer, when I received Super Mario Sunshine. The game wouldn't run on my Wii, but worked perfectly on my GameCube. I didn't think much of it, especially since Okami was working just fine. Fast forward about a month, maybe, when I try to play Wii Sports Resort. To my dismay, the Wii started clicking and would not read the damn thing. This is when I grew suspicious, so just to be sure, I tried playing Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It worked...barely. I got the same clicking noises, and I was only able to play the game by taking out the disc, reinserting, and hoping it wouldn't click again. This only got me to the first map, where I wasn't even able to enter a battle without getting the dreaded error message. I've read up on it, and the only free solution I've found is completely disconnecting it from any electrical source for about a day. That didn't work. I've tried moving it to a cleaner area, since its original resting place was quite dusty, but to no avail. I've thought of either plugging it into another power source (as I've turned my power strip into an absolute whore) or just opening the damn thing up to see if it's dirt/dust or something that would require repair. Oh, and if it helps, I got my Wii at launch, meaning the warranty is long gone.
