I have a center channel speaker where it seems they want me to put the kinect.
I wonder it i can put it WAY up on that top shelf... but then i need to make holes in the wall for wiring.

I have a really strong feeling that after 2-3 days no one is every going to touch anything kinect releated in my house... it will sit in the closet with the DD:revo pad and withe 3d glasses.

Ideas? i wonder if there is some kinda mount for the top of the TV -- but that is only 1.2" or something.

Put it back in the box and return it!!!!!!!!
REally though, I think the center speaker is the best, but you won't have room to play.

the pix makes it look small.. that is a 67" (or 63") TV and I have 14 feet better when TV and the sofa.. and i don't really have a choice.. NYC apts are small.

the 360 almost every gets used.. so it will be happy for a few days till the dust comes back on it. That is more than can be said about the p3.. ie, paper weight. The setup is mostly use for tv and the HTPC.

@Zurv: No shame in moving something around for more space.
Those are some huge dogs for apartments, though.

Some third-party accessory make is shipping some kind of clamp for TV-top mounting. You might want to look into that.

Apparently there's wall mounts for it (sold separately, of course).

For a mere 40 dollars you can get the ridiculously overpriced Kinect TV mount which looks like it's anchored by some sort of clips or screws in the back of your TV (to prevent it from tipping I'm guessing since the camera actually moves).
$40 isn't a lot of money but yes, I believe it's a bit much for an FN piece of plastic to hold your brand new $150 Kinect sensor on top of you TV at optimal placement...
Thems is some tough math but I believe that brings it up to 190 clams.
Probably gonna buy it eventually anyway though... damn you Microsoft.

There is also a wall mount that might be cheaper that I've seen that you might want to look into.

They say you shouldn't put it near a speaker since the Kinect sensor has a mic on it as well, just thought I'd add that.

It might not be the most attractive solution, but you could just kinda MacGyver a mounting device and put it on top of your television. If it's that big of a deal, you could just use chewing gum or something.

i think i've spent almost 14k on the setup.. so 40 more for a clip (while feeling wasteful) might be worth it. But I think i'm going to use a tripd or something at first. If you girly never touches it after the first few days i'll just put it away.. or give it to my brother kid or something.

According to Justin McElroy wherever you put it it'll need to be 7 feet from you for 1 player use and 8.5 feet from you for 2 player use.

    Your dog is awesome.

Try and construct a makeshift shelf that sits of top of the tv maybe? If its going to be like the wii you'll be taking the shelf down within 3-5 days

I was gonna say "up your ass", but then I read past the title and realized you're in the same situation as me.
