During his recent "Pach Attack" show on Gametrailers, Pachter predicted Natal to have a 50 dollar Pricepoint when Released. Now, if this happened, what do you think the response would be? I think it would be quit positive, However I have my doubts about this because:
1. MS has never priced there Accesories and Peripherals wisely.
2. For all we know, the PS Wands could be around the same price.
3. I still have my doubts about this thing. Im not sure how much of the 360 userbase will want something like this, compared to just a controller of somekind that would be more accurate. Theyre trying to court the wii people with this, and im not sure if it can. The Wands seem like a more Practical way to do motion controller, but hey, for all I know this thing be be like the wiis level of Success. It does interest me though. Im jsut not sure if the 360 crowd is like the wii crowd. (AKA getting off the couch and flayling about.)
what do you think? How much do YOU think itll cost?

Pachter predicts 50 dollar Price point for Natal....
I haven't seen anything yet that will convince me to get it. However if there is something unique enough I may. Let's be honest 5-6 years ago if someone told you that you would be playing plastic instruments you probably wouldn't have believed them.
i am still a tactile gamer. learning a new control scheme for some gimmicky games isn't very fun to me. if the games are responding to my movement while i am controlling a character with a controller then that's different and sounds cool. i still think this will cost upwards of $100. Heck, if their wireless is more than $100, there is no way that this will be $50.
I blame this financial supposition for stripping Natal of its full capabilities. Honestly, if the technology worked like it did at E3, we wouldn't be looking at a $50 price point. Being reductive, it's nothing but a bunch of cameras but the internal processor was what would've made the device more costly. Ever since Pachter said the device needed to sell at $50 a long time ago, Microsoft scaled back, removed/degraded the processor and the diminishing developer interest is proof of that. Now we're left with a reimagined Vision camera that draws processing power from the main CPU. If this thing did as advertised, I'd be willing to pay a higher premium because that would've allowed developers much more creative leverage.
" I guess between $70 to $90. $50 would be nice though. "Yeah, I have to agree. $50 doesn't sound like the sort of price-point that Microsoft usually aim for, but I will be pleasantly surprised if they do push it down to that.

" If Natal will be $50, then I will continue to wonder why their HDD costs $40 Bazillion per drive. "
This is something that makes me doubt Pachter's prediction on it's own merit. Plus, a regular controller is, what, $40-$50?
Would we get to wear 'Pachter Was Wrong" avatars? ;-)
I remember them talking about the price point of Natal on the Bombcast, and Jeff mentioned that since Microsoft is pushing this as a high-tech device, they need a price point to represent that. Pricing it at $50 can give the wrong impression that it isn't as advanced as it is.
It's all about the marketing, though.
I personally think natal will be like somewhere around a 100, while the wands will be around a hundred or a bit more since it requires the cam and the wands.
I predict between the price being between 99 and 150 bucks, which given Microsofts track record of reasonable pricing isn't exactly far-fetched.
Also: the Pach-man be krazy yo.
It's gotta be cheap if Microsoft is going to get a good amount of their userbase to come on. Supposedly they've also taken out some of its on-board processing to make it cheaper (can't remember who GamePro's John Davison was citing on that.) What they show at E3 needs to lay it on the line for the whole project: games and features, price, new name if any. I'd like to see it at $60 (or 50 for that matter) with some kind of minigame pack-in, but I could see it going up to $80.
Whoa there: Micheal Pachter saying crazy stuff that probably won't be true? This hasn't happened before. Ever.
If the available MS wireless adapters are still 100 bucks, I think Natal will be around 100 - 150. I really wouldn't be surprised if it was even more.
They cut the internals of Natal for a reason. Let's hope they put it to good use. A gimped system with a high cost would be utter failure. I just wish they'd follow suit and drop hard drive prices in line with a sane curve. My 20GB drive is too full to download a regular sized arcade game, which means MS is losing sales from me.
By the way, I'm thinking $60 with a cheap game a-la Wii Sports packed in.
