I hope it's for silver members only. I don't want to see ads when I'm paying a yearly subscription for Gold! Or could this mean Xbox LIVE could be made free?
Never paying another penny for Gold membership if they get the same ads. Sorry MS, but you already have ads on the dashboard, even though it's mostly for your own product and features. I'm not going to pay you to show me more ads.

It's kinda fine featuring adverts for like new releases and stuff. I'd almost find that informative. I.e. "Call Of Juarez Out Now" etc.
But... To just have generic ads placed all over a service you have to pay for seems a bit uncool.
dang that sucks. it should be cheaper/ free if there are ads again. isn't the feature spot already have ads of things? i see a lot of them but i don't mind them because they are actually about video games.

If this does happen i would see it be like "oh mcdonalds" then go about my business playing games. Its not stopping you from playing games its just there like your avatar.
Didn't they have ads on the original dashboard? Maybe they were all game related, but I'm pretty sure they had ads on the original dash all over the damn place. Even for gold members.

Just so long as XBL is not free. I know it's really unlikely, but the decrease in the subscription fee dramatically increases the odds of you being called a "noob fag" by a squeaky voice.

That is true, ads never bothered me before. But that's pretty much up to how many ads, but if it's just one little thing like I've heard then there's really not an issue.
