    Ying Yang Island

Location » linked to 2 games

Straddling the border of Outworld and Earthrealm, this Mortal Kombat: Deception combat arena passes from tropical paradise to hellish sandbox in a perpetual cycle. If the combatant isn't thrown into the frenzy of fish at water's edge, they'll most certainly be nibbled on by the tall snakes impersonating palm trees.

    Short summary describing this location.

This island flips back and forth, from Earthrealm to Outworld, keeping the fighters on their toes.

    Background

When the programmers where asked to comment on the "evil side's" design they shared that the "background was challenging because we had to make two background models with the memory budget of one. In one version the trees are dead with snakes on them. We chose another version with a giant snakes as trees." Unlockable concept art further explains beach front buildings: the team  "decided not to do the buildings to give it more of an isolated feel. "
The artwork and game art was created by Tony Goskie, and concept by Ed Boon.

    Fatality Death Trap

At once side of the island, when Outworld passes over, knocking one's opponent into the air at water's edge will result in turing them into fish food.
