    Overview

Zen-Nippon Pro Wrestling is the first game in the series of the same name from Natsume. It uses actual wrestlers and iconography from the real-life wrestling promotion Zen-Nippon (which means All Japan) Pro Wrestling, which is one of Japan's major "puroresu" organizations. The game uses a standard horizontal view of the ring, and provides many different throws, grapples and submission moves. It also features sixteen different wrestlers active in Zen-Nippon Pro Wrestling at the time.

The game was followed by four sequels, three of which are also Super Famicom games. The immediate sequel, Zen-Nippon Pro Wrestling Dash: Sekai Saikyou Tag, was released in the US as Natsume Championship Wrestling, and is the only game in the series with a US localization.
