Before the demo I was getting the feeling the game was a long QTE but the just showed its indeed a real game. One life is all you get before you die and have to start over. Game mite be cool.
ZombiU
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Nov 18, 2012
A first-person survival horror game set in London during a modern-day zombie apocalypse. As a launch title for the Wii U, it features extensive use of the system's GamePad.
Just saw the GT demo...
I like the one life principle, but in my gut I feel that Day Z might just be doing that whole thing better. I dunno, we'll see in the days ahead.
Awesome concept hopefully it leads to something special but I wan to know more of it the reason Im going to play still it looks kool

The GT demo looked really neat. Why did they not show this at Nintendo or Ubisoft's conference?
Because the main stream news outlets only care about dancing and fitness games and E3 is now all about gaining main stream press.
I don't buy this for a second because I cannot see mainstream press looking at anything like the endless Nintendo Land showing, Wonderbooks or everything at Microsoft and not being as completely bored as us.
I was wondering if the "How long will you survive?" tagline actually referred to something like that. Glad it does.

But don't paint E3 like it isn't indicative of where the industry is right now. The industry has a couple core franchises still going, but most of it is fairly stagnant, and rehashing fitness and music games is a cheap way for publishers to keep making money. A lot of designers seems to be standing around, waiting for the next big thing (ie new consoles), before making any new and interesting IP pushes.
As far as Ubisoft goes though, I think they were probably asked to leave that demo for Nintendo. If you hadn't noticed, Nintendo didn't have a whole lot to show at their conference, so I imagine Zombi U was a godsend for them. Had a much bigger impact in the Nintendo conference than it would have had at the Ubi conference where they showed the much more impressive Watch Dogs.
It looked decent but I still don't want to look away from the fucking screen. What idiot thought that would be a good idea?
@TheKing: I'd argue that carting out Usher is kind of different and probably one of the only truly appealing moments of that show, but I haven't read that article you're showing so maybe they were more jazzed about the rest of it. I'd be really surprised, though. Who the fuck does speaking Spanish to a Kinect or SmartGlass sell to? We don't care, and I can't imagine mainstream press looking at it and having the slightest understanding of it. Which is precisely the problem with the mainstream since they ignore everything they can't understand. Usher is something they can understand, though.
But again, you have the article, so you tell me: what's the rest of the tenor of it like? Positive on Microsoft or kind of a bunch of bullet points?
they need to change the name. its fucking terrible. The actual game looks neat though and

If Zombi U supports co-op, would be awesome.
Although if they want to hit it out of the park they would include local co-op with support for 2 wii u gamepads or a mode where only player 1 can carry the stuff and player 2 can add to the inventory but only player 1 can manage it. Player 2 can defend player 1 so they can hack keypads and manage inventory during times they would not otherwise be able to while playing single player.
@iAmJohn: I'm not sure, I found the picture online. But with a quick visit to CNN tech this was the first story I came across.
"Perhaps the biggest splash in the early going of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles was made by Microsoft with its unveiling of Xbox SmartGlass."

Well alright then, I guess I don't know anything. Well, except for the fact that I hate the mainstream media, but I've known that for a while now.

I'm right there with you, it's really sad what E3 had become. Nintendo could have went on stage and announced awesome core games that we would have shit our pants about. But they aren't up there for us, the majority of the people don't know what the fuck a Pikman is or why Metroid, Star Fox or F-Zero are awesome. They want to see dancing and gimmicks.
And that was E3 <>.

I really hope this game isn't another Red Steel. The game looks neat from what they have showed so far.
Red Steel suffered from not being able to live up to the promise of the sword/gunplay due to the Wii Remote's limitations. Hopefully, Ubisoft is being more realistic about what they can accomplish on the Wii U.

I don't want to derail the thread or anything, but I thought you might get a kick out of this: http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/05/tech/gaming-gadgets/wii-u-demo-e3/index.html. According to CNN.com, the Wii U is a new controller for the Wii.
Anyway, I've been pretty disappointed in the Wii U in general, but this game actually doesn't look bad. Could be pretty fun with some buds.

Why is there a period inside the quotation?
I left it there for you. I was testing you. ;-) That's not as bad as confusing your/you're. It seems like Americans don't know the difference. That and there/their/they're.

Really? That's where you are taking this? Guess it's true, the rest of the world does have an inferiority complex. Sorry, I'm making a post on a video game forum not turning in an English paper.

Haha. I'm American. I thought about clarifying that and I probably should have. I've just noticed that it doesn't seem like they have as much of a problem with it in the UK.

I see everyone do it. It's not that we don't know it's just we are on a casual forum. I don't really go back and proof read what I post. For the record I'm well aware of the proper use of your versus you're and there vs. their vs. they're. I think next time you might just want to not say anything at all about other peoples grammar when yours is not perfect.

My grammar is always perfect! How dare you! Haha. I was really just messing around. Nah, I will probably continue to correct people on it.
