A Pair Of Clips From Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Some light viewing to get you all excited for this DS RPG sequel from Nintendo.

After really enjoying the first Mario & Luigi on the Game Boy Advance (but not quite finishing it) and then completely failing to try the second game, Partners in Time, I'm a bit behind on Nintendo's portable RPG series starring the brothers Mario. But that isn't stopping the company from trundling right along with the third installment, Bowser's Inside Story, two new clips of which you may view below.

The first is a simple instructive video showing off some of the gameplay, which looks pretty similar to the last two games.

The second is, well... just watch.

I kinda liked the GBA game, but its pace was too slow for my taste (don't like RPGs much).

The platforming elements were pretty good for an RPG, and it had enough variety in it to keep me from getting bored.

Partners in Time was a great game. I still have to choose between getting Bowser's Inside Story when it's out or getting Rhythm Heaven.

Looks pretty nice! I can't resist a Mario RPG of any description really.

I dig the mechanic of being able to increase Bowsers abilities internally.  Inner Space anyone?  I love me some Martin Short.

Looks alright

That's all Bowser ever wanted.  He just wanted Mario inside of him... and now he finally gets his wish.

The second clip is awesome.

When did Bowser become Kirby and start sucking in everything.

Seems interesting, but I'd rather have them port Super Mario RPG to the DS instead

Looks amazing. Really looking forward to it.

At the end of the second clip where Bowser is bench pressing the castle . . . There seems to be a pink Bowser-ish looking thing in the castle. Maybe his mother? Heh. At least I'm hoping its part of his family or species instead of some lame doppleganger/clone/parallel Bowser.

"Palette swap Bowser is totally edgy because he's everything the real Bowser isn't!"

It's like that Magic School Bus episode where they went inside Arnold.

This DS game is awesome.

This game is going to be fucking epic.

I wish Nintendo would move on. It's almost 2010. I haven't cared about anything Mario related in over a decade.

I thought they were all great...definitely going to give this one a go

All i will say. There better be a level where you are inside bowsers testicles and you fight bowser sperm!

Day 1 must own :)

I hope the music isn't as obnoxious as what was on those videos.

Imho, Partners in Time sucked compared to Superstar Saga. I'm not looking that impressed with Bowser's Inside Story either.

Not going to lie, this looks like more Mario & Luigi.  That's not a bad thing, that's a good thing.

It's great and all, but the later games improved upon the formula so much that Mario RPG is dated by comparison. I forgot how terrible having to start battles just to get my stats up in order to defeat a boss that was both cheap and came out of nowhere when I started replaying it on Virtual Console. But it's still funny all these years.

Obnoxious?

You may want to fix that. Sure, new IP's are nice, but when a franchise continues to deliver, and gets better and better, it's a terrible idea to let it go.

Looks like a slower-paced mario game...

@Clbull: Well, Superstar Saga was one of the best games for Game Boy Advance IMO. Anyways, the only Mario games I play constantly are the racing ones anyway.

i really like the mario and luigi games
definitely gonna dust off my ds and pick this one up

looks like partners in time but worse and partners in time was worse than superstar saga; One big spiraling whirpool of Mario & Luigi games

Looks pretty awesome, the music reminds me a little of Kirby.

Sorry but this looks boring as hell.

I really liked the original Mario & Luigi but almost didn't finish it to. Seems like it's something about that last boss that just makes you feel done with the game if you die on it. Two of my friends played it to, both got up to the last boss but neither of them finished it.

Mario and Luigi 2 had some great moments but wasn't always funny the way the first was. They way you had four players with the baby Mario/Luigi's also made the game a lot easier. Since the baby versions couldn't be damaged until one of the brothers fell, and you could almost immediatly revive him with a 1-up shroom.

Now where can they go after they're inside Browser?.....

I really enjoyed the original two of these, and am looking forward to this one.

That DSi animation at the end of the videos is pretty slick
