Deus Ex: Human Revolution Pre-Order DLC And LE Set Announced

If Daidalos pre-purchased his wax and got that strength bonus, we'd be telling a whole different story about Íkaros' flight.

In Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you'll unravel a global conspiracy and presumably rub against that techno future's grain. A special 10-extra-dollar Limited Edition version of the game has been revealed for those interested in dropping a wee bit of extra coin for the usual array of exclusives. Also, special pre-order bonus DLC packs have been announced for those who may want to go the extra mile and reserve their copies through the brick-and-mortar equivalents of The Man.

Let's talk about the LE pack first, lovingly dubbed the "Augmented Edition." In the set, you'll get a 40-page art book, a "Making Of" DVD that also includes the game's soundtrack and "special trailers," premium packaging, and a motion graphic novel.

This edition, pictured just below, will be sold on release day for $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on consoles.

== TEASER ==As for the pre-order DLC? GameStop's exclusive is the "Explosive Mission Pack," a bit of content that features a new mission with a "special cameo appearance of an original Deus Ex character." It'll also give you the Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device, and something called the Automatic Unlocking Device.

Other participating retailers will be offering the "Tactical Enhancement Pack," which offers extra in-game cash (credits), the Longsword Whisperhead Extreme Range Sniper Rifle, and the Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is due out on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in "early 2011." GameStop suggests that the release date is, specifically, March 8, 2011.

i didn't like the others deus ex but this one looks fantastic with all that 'humanity is a the brink of self destruction' stuff, i guess. Anyway this'll be good, with pre order bonuses or not.

If companies just made good games, we wouldn't need all this pre-order garbage. I don't particularly mind pre-order bonuses. But I do mind specific retailer bonuses.
Worse comes to worst I'll just get the normal version on steam, and download the 20 meg file with all the DLC.

Did the designers just say, make him look like Neo from the Matrix?

Also that is looking like some VERY uninspired A.I. and level design.
A few of the first trailers looked amazing, but the more I see the more I question.

Paha, good call.

This looks kind of like if Obsidian had more than 12 dollars to make Alpha Protocol with.

No more art books, "making-of" DVDs, tacky plastic models, coins, stickers, prologue comics, tattoo sets, limited edition car packs or "special" packaging please.

$60 is not bad for a PC LE, so I'll probably pick it up because I love art books. But those useless pre-order bonuses...  in-game money? REALLY???
Well, Gamestop charges sales tax here (8.75%!!!), so I guess my money's going to Amazon.

I laughed too when I saw that, but the ammo counter isn't on the gun. It's seems to be overlaid on Adam's field of vision as part of his augmented vision- basically, just another HUD feature.
