You’ll be crippling Locusts and screaming alongside Marcus Fenix in the third Gears of War sooner than you might expect. Microsoft and developer Epic Games have revealed that Gears of War 3 will hit store shelves worldwide on September 20, 2011. Previously, the title was slated for a vague Fall 2011 window.
For those of you wondering, there’s still no word on exact date of the Gears of War 3 beta or even what it’ll contain, beyond dedicated servers. In today’s press release, however, there’s a promise of more information to come soon on when that trial period will start.
Back to Gears of War 3--what will you be doing in the game? Battling the Locust horde and facing “new threats,” of course! Gears 3 takes place around eighteen months after Gears of War 2 and the sinking of Jacinto. The Lambent are now a serious threat and the humans, after taking refuge in the sea, appear to be hurting for supplies and weapons. Tough times for Marcus and crew!
