Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime Announced

The sequel to 2009's Ghostbusters: The Video Game is... a four-player downloadable game?

Terminal Reality's Ghostbusters: The Video Game is receiving a sequel, though its follow-up couldn't be less different from the original. USA Today has the scoop on Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, a four-player, top-down "adventure" game set to hit PSN, Xbox Live Arcade, and Windows PC in Spring 2011. The game will have you reprising the role of "the rookie" in an effort to "fend off a new supernatural threat."

The details given to USA Today are rather light. Boss battles, Ecto-3 driving, and proton packs have been confirmed, as well as online and local co-op. And it appears as if the original Ghostbusters cast won't be making an appearance in the game. At the very least, they won't be voicing their respective characters like they did in Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Damn.  It's a Ghostbusters game, so you know I'll be buying it.  Though I have to wonder if it'll be worth the effort.  Fingers crossed.

Sounds similar to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which I really enjoyed after being skeptical. This could be fun.

This reminds me of that old Ghostbusters Arcade game that hardly anyone played.  I remember liking it a lot at the time, so this intrigues me a bit.

I didn't mind the last Ghostbusters game that badly, even if the voice work and scripting was rather terrible.
 
In fact I'd be more than happy if they even just cut away that voice-over work completely for this, just so I don't have to listen to a half-hearted Bill Murray drudge through his lines over a phone or something.

Shame it isnt a full retail game like Terminal Reality's Ghostbusters as that was susprisingly decent, but this could be pretty good, plus it has co-op which seems a perfect fit really.

meh, playing as the ghost busters doesn't look fun.  I mean you've got these beams that you point at ghosts, and that's about it.  You'll never get a shotgun or grenades...

For real, why don't they use that fat subscription money to pay someone to do these without all of the poor writing, late timing, and typos?  I know they're still probably on shaky ground, but surely they can find someone better or more consistent than Brad, right?  Like me, of course!

I couldn't finish the recent videogame, despite being a big fan of Ghostbusters.  The gameplay was just so generic and uninspired.
This on the other hand looks like a lot of fun, and the top down perspective really worked for Tomb Raider.

It took two hours since Brad II initially posted the story before it was publicly published on the site. I don't know what happened during those two hours, but it apparently wasn't copyediting.

I loved the first one. If this turns out playable I'll certainly buy it in hope that a real sequel is made.
