Good Old Games Adds Mac Games to Nostalgic Lineup

The service has added Crusader: No Remorse. That’s all you need to know.

I'm fully prepared to completely destroy my nostalgic perspective of Tex Murphy.
I'm fully prepared to completely destroy my nostalgic perspective of Tex Murphy.

The Mac went through a rough patch with games for a long time, but it’s on an upswing. It’ll never be on the same as PC gaming, but with Valve behind it with Steam, and Good Old Games announcing support for Apple’s computers, Mac users should be happy.

It’s made me the happiest boy in the world because it means instant access on this underpowered Air to Crusader: No Remorse, all of the Tex Murphy games, Syndicate, and many others.

Yes, that is the sound of me completely losing my shit.

(Also, I’m not sure what Personal Nightmare is. Maybe a decent candidate for Spookin’ With Scoops?)

You can view the entire GOG catalog over here, and filter by Mac.

GOG said it’s investigating the idea of expanding the library on GOG through WINE support, and plans to include new games on GOG every week.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Anyone being able to play any games is always good.

What should I check out first? I've never used GOG before, and I haven't had a chance to play a lot of the games listed.

Just got Space Quest IV, V, and VI for ten bucks!

I've been running GOG title on my underpowered PC for a while. Good that the service finally supports Mac.

I have a mac desktop and a PC laptop, so this is good news for me. I tend to swap back and forth depending on whether my wife needs to use Photoshop.

I have a top notch PC for gaming at home and a Macbook Air for work as I travel a lot. These are f***** good news! I already had some classics running on it like Fallout, Planescape and Baldur's Gate...

Tex Murphy is great, I played some games of this series in the 90s and Crusader, man, I want to play it badly.

So, like, Macs are totally PCs. They can even run windows. The only difference between the bits used in them and in stuff you buy with windows or linux on it tends to be the bios/efi.

So why not just start talking about windows and mac os x and linux and beos and whatever the fuck else instead of this pc vs mac shit? They're ALL pcs.

Deus Ex if you haven't played that already. Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate, Fallout and Anachronox on the RPG side. Dark Reign, Total Annihilation and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri among the strategy titles. If you have $35 to spare, I'd recommend getting the entire Interplay catalog, which is on sale, and there's certainly more than $35 worth of great games in that bundle - the Descent series, Freepace, Fallout and Bioware classics Shattered Steel and MDK.
