InFamous Demo Hits PSN, Retail Appears In The Wild

Everyone can check out a sample of Sucker Punch's latest right now, and a lucky few of you might find the game for sale early.

The official PlayStation.Blog has posted its weekly PSN update indicating that the demo for Sucker Punch's electric superhero romp InFamous is now available for everyone to download. (Previously, the demo was locked up behind a lousy preorder exclusivity scenario, which is completely counter to a demo's primary purpose of letting you know if you want to buy a game in the first place. But I digress.) Go download and check it out, I beseech you.

Meanwhile, earlier today online games retailer and longtime import king NCS posted retail copies of InFamous, fully ready for shipping. Jeff darn near ponied up the $25 surcharge to get a copy sent here tomorrow for the weekend--but he lost his chance, since NCS has already sold out of its initial shipment. They promise a restock tomorrow, so you can still pay through the nose to get a copy sent to you on Saturday if you so desire.

More generally, since NCS has and is selling the game now, you might also run into InFamous at retail over the weekend, so I thought I'd drop a quick note to say that I'm almost through the end of the game, and unless it completely flies off the rails somehow during the last few missions, it's totally awesome. So in advance of a full review on Monday, my tentative recommendation for you is to buy this game and play it.

If a demo ain't enough for you (or you don't have a PS3 or something), this video runs down a lot of what goes on in the game, such as me dying repeatedly.
