IO Interactive's New Game Is...What Now?

The creators of Hitman and Freedom Fighters have gone in a decidedly cuter direction this time around.

IO Interactive--makers of Hitman, Freedom Fighters, and, yes, Kane & Lynch--announced their newest game today courtesy of parent company Eidos. With such a grim, gritty resume, you'd expect even more blood, gore, death, and destruction to come out of the Danish studio.

IO's next game does feature swords and, presumably, killing, but apparently it will be the cutest killing you've ever seen. The game is Mini Ninjas, the mind is baffled, and here's a trailer.

Not much information available on what the game will be like, though it will be on every console and handheld you can think of. I'll leave you with some screenshots and a snippet from the press release, which describes Mini Ninjas thusly. You can also hit the game's official site for more to come.

Join Hiro, the smallest hero on the biggest adventure, as he embarks on an epic and electrifying quest to restore harmony to a world on the brink of chaos. Use your skills and mighty Ninja training to battle a magical army of evil Samurai. Harness the power of your Kuji magic and utilise the special skills of your Mini Ninja friends as you travel through a perilous world to reach the final confrontation with the Evil Samurai Warlord in his Fortress of Doom.
