Left 4 Dead 2 DLC "Passing" To 360 And PC Early 2010

Bill!

Pretty sure this will be part of the new campaign.
Pretty sure this will be part of the new campaign.
Left 4 Dead 2's first DLC pack sadly won't focus on the Midnight Riders, as I'd hoped, but it will hook you up with those fine survivors from the original game. It's called "The Passing" and it's due out in Spring of 2010. Here's the word, straight from Valve.

Dubbed "The Passing," the first game add-on for L4D2 brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360.

Targeted for release in early spring, "The Passing" takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2. Set in a small town in rural Georgia, players assume the role of the L4D2 Survivors as they meet with the L4D1 characters.

In addition to the new co-operative campaign and associated narrative, "The Passing" will include new arenas for Survival, Versus and Scavenge mode and introduce a new co-operative challenge mode of play. The Passing will also include a new "uncommon common" zombie class, melee weapon, and firearm.

"The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign," said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. "It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry."

I'm a little surprised this episode is set after Dead Center, which places it near the beginning of the Left 4 Dead 2 timeline and not after it, as you might expect. So you have to imagine nothing too terrible is going to happen to our intrepid heroes like Coach and Ellis, since they'll need to go on and participate in the game's four subsequent campaigns.

I would've liked to see what happens after the end of the game, but then again, I will in no way argue with a significant piece of new content for this game. How about you? Excited to see Louis and Bill again? Ready to (presumably) fork over for a new campaign?

Dont' care if i have to pay for it. Crash Course was good (if a little short) and L4D2 was much more than a mere expansion.
M$ are the ones who force-charge for DLC, if Valve do it for free on PC then I've no doubt they'd rather do it for free on Xbox but they can't... so get off their backs.
I'd pay double to get some of the best PC mod community maps on here, especially DotD mall.
I really need to get my finger out and progress with my L4D mod map, and charge for it!

I have a feeling that PC owners don't pay for DLC kuz the guys that normally charge them say to themselves ,"You know, PCs crash and get viruses way too much.  Let's save 'em the money they'll need to fix their computer"  That's why I use a Mac.
Now, before I get ton of hate comments about how Macs can't play any good games, I know, and I'll give you that one.  But, i don't really care, because PC seem a little bit childish now, and I have one thing that will prove that: WoW.  I don't need PC games, I'm a 360 fanboy all the way!!  (Now i'll probably get comments about how the 360 sucks kuz it doesn't have free internet like the PS3)
