I've been making my way through WarioWare DIY for the past week or so, absorbing the tutorials and, now, starting to make my own games. I've quickly come to terms with the notion that my art skills are going to be my downfall. I lack the patience and skill to really sit down and make good-looking characters and animation, so I've either been importing things from other games or making stuff look crappy "on purpose."
This video, taken from the Japanese version of the game, tossed onto YouTube back in February, and sent to me earlier tonight by one Matthew Rorie, makes me wish I was a bit better with my art stylez.
The funny thing is that when I watch that stuff, I don't see the murder and violence. All I see are the AI commands used to build it. All I see is code. I guess what I'm saying is... I'm the Neo of WarioWare DIY.
Should have a review and an accompanying Quick Look for this one for you this week. Also, if you have any ideas for microgames, shoot them my way in the comments and maybe I'll try to build a couple of them. I think I've just about exhausted my "bad shooter" and "object gets crushed by well-timed tap" franchises.
