Midnight Blue DSi XL Coming In July

The reveal of the Nintendo 3DS put the hurt on what little buzz surrounded Nintendo's North American DSi XL launch. But that isn't stopping the hardware manufacturer from spitting out new colors of the humungous handheld in the US, as evidenced by this morning's announcement of a midnight blue DSi XL, due out in the states July 11. It will join the copper- and crimson-colored DSi XL's currently on the market in the US at the same $190 retail price.

Holy shit, dude. War of the Coprophages is one of my favorite X-Files episodes. It's the fact that they could pull off such schlocky material, with such class, that made the show what it was.

Still like the brown one the best. That shit's just classy.

I saw the Midnight and instantly thought of Midnight Brown. Jeff, get those songs onto the Rock Band Network xD

 War of the Coprophages wasn't that bad... compared to the last two entire seasons of the show and the one where Cancer man killed Kennedy and JFK it's actually pretty freaking good.  I liked when the X-Files went for goofy humor in the early years.

Here's hoping the 3DS will be available in this color. I have a DSi currently, and am resisting the urge to upsize it to an XL, but damn is that sleek. 

Now I think I will totally pick of a DS.

A time machine would come in handy.

I wasn't thinking of ever buying an XL, but now I am upon seeing this. Darn you Nintendo and your ways of manipulation!

I know the screens are larger, and thought I remembered it having an extra stop in the hinge that holds the top screen at an angle that is helpful for tabletop use.  Does anyone know if the XLs use the stock DS d-pad and buttons?  Is the D-pad  a bit bigger (closer to NES/SNES size?  Are the buttons a little better spaced and not so crowded together as on the Lite?
