New Cars, New Events Coming To NFS: Hot Pursuit Via DLC

EA announces a bunch of new stuff you can download!

A total of three Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit downloadable content packs are slated to hit within the next three successive weeks starting this Feb. 22, EA has announced. The content, all slated to hit at seven bucks for the two console versions of the racer, will add new cars, modes, events, and achievements to the core game.

The first pack, “Armed and Dangerous,” is an online-focused thing that’ll add an open-world “battle” mode called “Most Wanted,” which’ll have the cops attempting to bust up one designated racer while other racers are tasked with protecting him. The other mode, “Arms Race,” appears to be a more cut and dried racing affair that’ll feature weapons and a straight-up race to the finish line.

  • Lamborghini Diablo SV
  • Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV
  • Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

The third pack, “Posche Unleashed," adds three new cars: the Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche 959, and the 911 Speedster. The boilerplate in today’s press release focuses on the former car, as it's “designated to enable players to go back and reignite their earliest rivalries and beat their friends' times.” Ten more events will be added in this one, too.

The price seems about right for the first pack, and while I’d imagine NFS owners are pumped for all of the new content, that 911 Turbo has me worried. Is it going to be the super car that can shatter every record with no problems?
