Samurai Shodown II Price Update

SNK's bloody sword fighting game goes for twice the initially announced price, and I happily buy it anyway.

Just a quick update here. When it was originally announced for release this week, SNK's Samurai Shodown II was listed by Microsoft as a 400 point ($5) purchase. It has, in fact, released at 800 points ($10).

This has led to a flood of people complaining about it over on Major Nelson's site.

I'm too busy cutting fools to complain too much, but getting things like pricing incorrect is probably one of the worst kind of errors. Also, as it fits into the old "emulated game with lightly updated graphics" mold, 400 points is probably the perfect price for it. Unless you're me. Or at all like me. Because having a version of Samurai Shodown II with blood and online play, even for ten bucks instead of five, is one of those thing that if I had heard it from you ten years ago, I would have said you were high on the drugs. The bad drugs. Because something like this would have had to have come from outer frickin' space.
