Come on Valve, stop teasing us with your other projects!

There's no reason to "dumb down" Counterstrike. It isn't any more complex than any given popular console shooter at tis point.

As a PC gamer, A former CS:S Competitive gamer online and irl (I went to more then a few tournaments and my team placed in at least top 3 every time), and just a person who enjoys valve shooters...

Bring it on. As long as it has dedicated servers and plays like Counter Strike, I will buy it. Hopefully they fix the bad registration of hits that plagued cs:s. I'm optimistic that valve won't throw us under the bus.

Calm down people, CS:S is not going anywhere. All because the noobs will flock to the new game, and your source of easy kills will be there, that is no reason to cry about CS coming to console. FYI, CS on console already existed on the original xbox.

Too many replies here to make a fully informed comment on the rage engendered among the PC gaming community, but I would have thought they would welcome the opportunity to slaughter the console crowd with their superior control scheme/aimbots.

it will probably still be primarily a pc game. like the left 4 dead and half life games, and portal and tf2. all of which came out on consoles.

no reason for people to get so worked up.

it returns early next year on PC, Mac, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network (yes, consoles--cue the angry PC crowd!).

Gabe Newell is officially trolling us now, Valve are going to announce every single sequel/new thing they possibly can before Half Life 3. We'll probably get a Team Fortress 3 announcement before a HL3 one. >_<

Cry some more. You do realize it is possible for them to code in the ability to use mouse/keyboard for the console kids. Considering the CSS framework is already in order for PC why would it hurt the pc version? They would be spending more time on the console aspects because the Pc version really was almost done from the start. So how did you conclude the iron sights part from the pics or this article? As someone who has played CS since beta, it is clear to me this is more of an update than a new game. What I find funny about the post you made was how childish and bitchy you are. Totally agree. I'm a hardcore PC gamer, hell I played CoD professionally for a few years, and this is nothing but good news to me. Not all PC gamers are elitist, just the most vocal vile spewing assholes.

I hope this turns out better than CS:S and DOD:S. It sounds like valve is listening to the CS 1.6 and source community, so that's a reason to be optimistic. We'll just have to wait and see.

Well, color me surprised. I've never been all that into PC shooters, nor Counter-Strike in general, and I'm starving for Half-Life news. Still, Valve rarely makes a wrong move, so I'll absolutely be checking this out. Take me, Gabe.

CS on a controller? Seems weird to me, wonder if they will keep it without aim assist, in this day and age console games have too much handholding. Older Xbox games like Ghost Recon and the Counter Strike Xbox port didn't have aim assist and played pretty damn good. Just a bigger learning curve than today's shooters.
