Why are we doing this? Well, it's partially because we thought it'd be funny to have an audience survey with a bunch of really dumb questions in it. But it's mostly because the more we know about you, the better we can serve you. Between our Whiskey Media posse preparing to launch new sites and our representatives heading out into the world, preaching the gospel of Giant Bomb, knowing more about you helps us all do stuff more effectively.
There's also an advertising angle, obviously. The main reason most sites and magazines do surveys like this is because knowing more about the people reading the site helps you sell more effective ads. We really don't want to cover the site in garbage ads that no one could possibly be interested in. I'm guessing that you'd rather we didn't do that, too. By answering this survey, we'll be able to tell advertisers what sort of people read the site, and that'll help us get ads that aren't the stupid, flashy nonsense that you see everywhere else. Also, I should really point out that we don't keep your personal information during any part of this process.
However, there's a space for your e-mail address at the bottom of the survey. If you'd like, you can feed us that address. We'll select some percentage of respondents and send them one of our few remaining Giant Bomb logo T-shirts. We didn't make very many of these, and we're almost out, so this might be one of your last chances to get one.
