Your Game of the Year for 2010

An interesting read, a year later. I really hope they have this feature this year as well, I'm already preparing for my own list.

Forgot to check on this list sooner. Love the list, kind of ecstatic that Super Meat Boy made it in the top 5. Just further proof that this website is amazing.

Happy with this list, even better with Mass Effect 2 at the top <3  
And seeing Black Ops bested by Mario Galaxy 2 is a bonus too.

I would agree, great game! Red Dead is a very, very close second though, especially with the Undead DLC.

A great list overall - but I'm not sure on Fallout: New Vegas.
 
The game was well written, good pacing, interesting characters, and a great environment.  But the bugs... MY GOD THE BUGS.  A major title release like that should have been held back to fix all the problems.  Releasing it like they did was unacceptable.

Geez, kind of a shame that Chaos Rising was in the deep end of the list. That expansion was pretty awesome with a campaign which was shorter but a lot more focused than DOW II. 

Nice to see Heavy Rain in the top 10 and that Enslaved made so many lists!

Very good list. I'm glad you guys expand past the typical Top 10 only lists most sites have. Glad to see some indie gems like Super Meat Boy up there.

mass effect 2 initially disappointed me by the lack of rpg elements,so it cant be that. I will go with Red Dead. Very nice surprise.

Limbo is one of the worst games ever. Only thing it has is artistic style. The ending was terrible, the puzzles were mind-numbing, I'm surprised it got that high. 
 
I guess it was all hype. What a joke.

Just noticed this list doesn't have Modnation Racers on it. I am incredibly disappointed. That game is awesome.

*whispers* I actually liked Mafia II.

god help me. i just got deadly premonition and im really enjoying it. i mean the game play is pure shit, but my god  the story and characters are pure fucking gold.

I'm glad to see Blur made it on the list somewhere.  Such an awesome game.

rb3 made top 20 and my choice was #2. it was a good year.

I vote Super Meat Boy, Plants vs. Zombies, and Halo Reach

I 'd love to see the full list/results.  I'm surprised to not see an iPhone game other than Game Dev Story up there.  Cut the Rope and Tilt to Live were in the bottom of my top 10.  Granted, I had not played AC:Bhood yet, and both RB3 and Splinter Cell are still in their wrappers...stupid back catalog.

What? Of course deadly premonition is better than Final Fantasy XIII...

I'm kind of disappointed that Bayonetta just missed the top-10 over while Fallout NV did, but the masses have spoken and I'm thankful it did as well as it did.  Hopefully, there will be a sequel someday with more crazy-ass action and even less clothing.

 What about any great games that hardly anyone played and aren't on the list?

It proves that aggregation and statistics never lie, EVER! I agree with this list. 

I didn't make a list because I barely played any games that came out this year. However Donkey Kong Country: Returns should really be higher... that game is fucking amazing.

I didn't bother because I only played 3 great games this year.  Super Meatboy, Mass Effect 2, Starcraft.

Good list! Only sad part for me is that Alan Wake didn't make the top 10. :( 
Oh well, another year of games ahead! Littlebigplanet 2 (and backlog) here I come!! :)

NBA 2k11 is arguably the best sports game to come out this generation and it didn't even crack the top 50.  I realize there are a bunch of video game geeks here at GB, myself included, but shit goddamn.

I also played around 40 of the games on this list.  I don't think it's entirely unfeasible that people who care enough about games to be on this site and make lists about them play a few dozen games a year.  Things like gamefly make it even easier to play all the new games. "

Peace Walker so low makes me sad, but at least it is on there. Such a great game, ironic that the most balanced and arguably the strongest title in the entire series is on the PSP.
