A form of game item that is only useable a limited number of times (typically once) before being discarded or destroyed.

The quintessential example of a consumable item is a health potion in an RPG.

Some games with real-money economies attach real monetary value to consumable items, allowing players to spend real money on fleeting in-game benefits.
