Overview

A cosmetic item is any item acquired in a game that serves only a decorative purpose, and cannot affect the gameplay in any way. Most often, the term is used in reference to clothing or other things wearable by the player character. This is different from character creation, in that the cosmetic detail or effect is not an inherent part of the character; players can choose whether or not to use a cosmetic item once they've gotten it.
