Some people were a little up set to see Crysis make the jump from Jungle island to City...island(s). i however am happy. i have wanted a god damn game to take place more inside a large city then country sides and the god damn middle east (no more middle east please for the love of Christ) for a long time now. Its great atmosphere, fighting in down town NYC with giant skyscrapers looming overhead (some of them collapsing) its not only a great change in pace its just so much more visually stimulating. all that glass and neon and cars! in closing good on Crytek for doing something different at least with its environment.

I concur. I'm liking the game thus far more or less based on the fact that the environment is awesome. Kicking cars into people while jumping around on scaffoldings and being invisible makes it feel like what Predator: Concrete Jungle should've been.

Indeed, most of my friends think it should have stayed in the jungle, but I also prefer the city.

Kicking giant donuts is fun as hell.

I love shooters in dense urban environments. There's just so many cool places to hide, and the setting is certainly less played out. Also if it was another tropical island, I'd start to seriously doubt Crytek's ability to render anything but jungles.

To be fair at the time of FarCry's release most devs were saying it was impossible to render a real jungle. Crytek proved them fucking wrong =) i think with Crysis 1 they were really trying to drive the point home.

but for the next game, keep the city setting just really open it up to be a true sandbox. by that time i should have a PC that can run it.

@Jackel2072: Yeah they were very impressive games, but I can understand the need to mix it up.

I agree. The city is a much better place for a game like this than the jungle. It makes a tactical playthrough so much more interesting.

I also don't like how some people are saying this is a corridor shooter. The environments are way more open than people give them credit for.
