    CRYSIS: WARHEAD

This was an awesome expansion to the original Crysis, though it ends a bit abruptly. There were numerous set piece battles in Warhead which I enjoyed greatly. Many of these standoffs were larger and more intense than those in the original game.

Warhead definitely ramps up the difficulty by throwing more enemies at you all the time, but that removes a lot of the strategic element from the game. In the first Crysis you had the choice of storming in to an area, sneaking in cloaked, sniping enemies from a distance or avoiding the location all together. A lot of those choices have been removed from Warhead as you’re often shoved forwards by teammates, chase objectives and simple lack of alternative routes. This doesn’t mean it’s not fun though, it’s just feels much different from the original Crysis.

Warhead also feels a bit rough around the edges. For instance, certain missions complete with a screen fade out rather than having you move to the next location yourself in some logical manner. There are also some cut scenes – which are fun – but are a bit undramatic and lacking in emotion.

Overall, Crysis: Warhead is an excellent game and – especially at it’s $20 price point – I highly recommend it. Make sure you play through the original Crysis before getting in to Warhead though, as Warhead doesn’t explain itself, it simply expects you to have played the first game.

Yes, it is important that the multiplayer aspect of Crysis Warhead, Crysis Wars, is separate. Since it's a separate application it means that the team can more easily patch the multiplayer component without having to worry about messing with the single player portion itself. Obviously Wars is going to be updated a lot more frequently than Warhead so this alone makes it a lot more efficient f...

A short but sweet ride 0

After playing this game to the end I kind of felt what I felt with the first Crysis. This is pretty good, but I think some people won't judge it on its own rights. A game that relies heavily on graphics to make a name of itself is bound to have it weighed more than it should. Crysis Warhead, like the first game just to a lesser degree, is not just a pretty game, it's a pretty game that's also a great game. What makes it so special are the nanosuit features. You can become invisible, have a boost ...
