    The Dagger of Time, along with the Hourglass of Time, were created on the Island of Time should they ever be needed to contain the Sands of Time. A young Maharaja is informed of the powerful relics and leads an expedition to obtain the artifacts. It is from here events diverge into two alternate timelines:

    The Sands of Time


    In Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the discovered Hourglass is already filled with the Sands, and the Maharaja takes the relics back to his kingdom.

    The Two Thrones


    In Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, the discovered Hourglass is empty, forcing the Vizier to discover a means of filling it...
