Thought I'd start one of these to show off how good the game looks with the resolution fix, feel free to post your own screens.
Dark Souls
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011
A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.

How is the game running so far performance-wise? Is it similar to the console versions as many had feared/expected?
Locked at 30fps at 2560×1440 with filtering options on. Core i7 3770, 560ti, 8gb ram . . . I forced a bunch of texture filtering options in the nvidia control panel, but I am not sure if it worked.
im more interested in how the game PLAYS with mouse and keyboard... Would it add to the frustration? I don't have a controller at home...

It has ran like butter for me, zero framerate hiccups so far, even in areas where the FPS dipped heavily on the console version (New Londo, Blighttown).
@probablytuna: I've occasionally gotten drops when there's lots of particle effects, but otherwise even with the resolution fix it's a solid 30 the rest of the time.
Someone just posted 3 video quality comparison screenshots on the Steam forums and I thought I'd share them here. It honestly looks like there's a high res texture pack included or something... pretty crazy.

Edit: It's mind-boggling what FROM could have achieved with a good PC port here, people would have been blown away by high quality trailers running at 60 FPS, at least I would have been.
All that needs to be done now is to make the frame-rate capped above 60 and add automatic strafing when pressing D and A.
Until the depth of field resolution is fixed, I'll refrain from posting any screenshots. Distant or extremely close objects get rendered at a totally different resolution than the mod, which kinda ruins the effect.

It's probably a lot like the PSX Final Fantasies, especially 9.
The graphics in that game were INSANELY good looking, but the PSX wasn't capable of rendering that shit so they added a bunch of filters. Once you look at the actual models via an emulator, it just blows your fucking mind what could have been with more powerful hardware.
Did you know the Thief armour has a fucking bird embroidered on it? Or that the chain armour was so good looking? Neither did I.
That third screenshot is blowing my mind... all the cracks in the walls, everything is so detailed. I have already installed DS and will play it soon, but is that really the way the game looks?

@Terramagi: Hm yeah, but the texture quality doesn't improve by turning up the resolution, that's not the way it works. Yes, that is actually how it looks.
Also, there was a post on the SomethingAwful forums that really blew my fucking mind.
Recognise it? It's the statues in the Catacombs. Notice something oddly familiar? That's right motherfucker, they're ALL of Pinwheel. But oh wait, that's not all!
The trapped ones that shoot the spikes at you when you pass? They're wearing the goddamn Child mask.
Conversely, the untrapped ones are worn down and are wearing the Father mask.
THIS is what a high resolution does with the files already in the game. This was ALWAYS there, but now it's allowed to shine.
GOD this game looks pretty good!
I think I really should get it once a Steam Sale comes up, I'm hoping for Black Friday or a Thanksgiving sale!

Just get it for full price! It's more than worth it. Hundreds of hours of gameplay await you here, the replay value on it is through the fuckin' roof!

God damn. I really didn't want to but I might have to buy the PC version now. If I can't recreate @Lysergica33's second Anor Londo shot on the PS3 then it'll have to be time for PC and Steam big picture mode.
I haven't tried it on my TV yet.. Just on a 23" PC monitor. Looked lovely. Can't wait to see it on a 42".

@envane: I thought those were just stones as well. They did some funky stuff to the graphics engine on the console version.
The only funky stuff they did was render it at a resolution I haven't used since 1998 (1024x768) and then blur it to buggery on top of that. Funky stuff indeed.

No, these are the same textures as in the console version... with the console resolution you just couldn't see how sharp and detailled they actually are. ;)

I really do want to but I have a backlog of games and I don't have the money currently.

It's the weird texture blur that is in effect which is whats "funky" to me. From the PC screens you can clearly see the art assets definitely are detailed, it's just a weird filter or something they must put on it.
