I defeated the Gargoyles, Capra demon and giant dragon thing in the sewer but the guy at the giant doors that (I am assuming) take me to the forrest is still sitting there saying "still closed, still closed... hmmm"

Is that how I get in there? I know there is an area designated for roughly lvl 20-25 ppl called Darkroot Garden? where I get the Divine Ember xD am I on the right path and how do I gain access please?

The guy you're describing is Siegmeyer of Catarina. The big gates are the gates to Sen's Fortress, which opens after you ring the second bell at Blighttown.

Darkroot garden is located near Andrei the blacksmith. You'll encounter a Titanite Demon going to the forest. :)

I love Siegmeyer's armour.

There's a trader in Sen's Fortress that sells the armour, I think.

@lilbigsupermario: No his armour is found in the painted world in anor londo. The same as his sword. You have to get the annex key from where alll the wheely demons are and both the rapier and his armour are past that door. You have to break a half broken door to get the sword, and i forget about the armour.

We had constant Dark Souls advice threads for so damn long. There must be more advice threads on this game than any and now with the PC version they're back. I love it.

You can definitely buy his armor in Sen's Fortress. I'm also sure that that's the only place where the Catarina set is so, what? And rapier? He uses a claymore lookin' thing.

Unless this is some added on PTD edition nonsense, which in that case holy shit that's weird.
