    @Mars:

    Can you not just repair it at a Blacksmith or with a grindstone like any other weapon?

    @ImperiousRix: I bought the upgrade that lets me repair equipment at a bonfire, but, it is never in the list of items to repair. I also have no idea how to upgrade it.

    Wow, that's weird. I just bought the crystal straight sword because it had pretty damn good stats and I wanted a faster/shorter option for combat. Then I noticed its awful durability. Only 60.

    I never imagined that I wouldn't just be able to repair it, though. Wonder if it requires a specific item.

    So ... I basically just wasted a purchase on it? I cannot figure out how to get a weapon to be worth a shit in this game. I am still using the Drake sword but its getting a little weak. My next most powerful weapon is a +5 spear that only has a stat of 180 or so. I need to find some good weapons soon or I'm going to be screwed in a heartbeat.

    If I remember right, the description on the crystal stuff says that they can't be repaired, which is why I didn't buy any of that stuff.

    As for getting a weapon better than the drake sword, just make sure whatever other weapon you are upgrading scales with the main stat you are using, which is strength for me. By the time I was on my way through Blighttown my axe was just as strong/stronger than my drake sword. You should also find a pretty decent weapon in Sen's Fortress when you get there. I don't use the drake sword anymore.

    Sounds a lot like the spectral (or whatever) weapons/armor from Diablo II.

    On your first playthrough you're best off sticking to weapons that deal certain damage and don't scale with your stats (like the Drake Sword). Stat scaling is such garbage that it only starts beating out the static damage weapons at fairly high levels. So stick with the Drake Sword a bit longer and after that you should go for Lightning weapons.

    Didn't it say right in the description that it can't be repaired? You should always check everythings description!

    I heard you might be able to repair crystal weapons with the powder. I haven't tested it though.
