    Obviously Def Jam Rapstar is a game perfectly suited for DLC in the future, but has there been any official announcement  that they are planning on supporting it?

    My best guess is they have some lined up contractually already or are pursuing for some DLC songs, but are going base availability and the frequency on how well the game sells first. 
     
    If Rock Band is any sort of precedent, I can't imagine how much it would cost to license not only the song, but the music video as well and then of course having the added cost of a developer to map out the song.
