I can trade in games(even though I have spare cash) to get it for free. But the whole always online DRM, and everything, I haven't played Diablo since the first one, and I LOVED it for the Playstation. I've seen the gameplay etc. Should I buy it If I'm interested? Thanks! I'm totally on the fence, and of course I'll share my Guest Passes if I get them.

How miffed are you at the thought of not being able to play for a couple of hours because of server troubles?

It is a fantastic game and the required internet connection lets them do some cool things but you have to put up with some really nasty growing pains. I assume these will be pretty much history in a week, but you can't know for sure.

If you don't like anti-consumer DRM don't buy it. Otherwise you're telling publishers "This garbage is OK, try putting more bullshit into your next game I'll probably put up it."

This game is fantastic, the server stuff isn't even that bad. Should expect it to considering it's blizzard and they haven't launched any games recently that didn't require a server connection. We already said this stuff was okay to them when Starcraft came out.

that's not really accurate though. while it's inexcusable that there's no offline option, it's not just pure DRM. it adds security for the real-$ auction house stuff and makes any session a potential multiplayer session without the need to create different characters or leave the game if your friends wanna join.

Game is awesome and if you can not make a huge deal over a bit of lag here and there then I fully reccomend it.

@DeF: Purely conjecture, but I'd be willing to bet they considered ways to keep the auction house safe without screwing solo players but dropped it in favor of cheaper/easier always online DRM.

Yesterday, after playing for a couple of hours, I was actually looking at the "Buy Now" button, but man, those 59,99.

I might be going to get it now, if these games I trade equal 60 bones. I'll let you know.
