    Does Dark Arisen "fix" the aspect ratio? If it does, is the camera further from the character allowing for approximately the same FOV?

    If you mean the letterboxing? It is still there. I think they use that because the game is running in sub HD resolution. That is because the MT framework can't handle open world games really well, so they had to make some compromises.
