    Overview

    Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is the expansion to Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors 8. In addition to the expansion released on the PS3, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition was released on the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. The Complete Edition features all of the content of the original Dynasty Warriors 8 and the Xtreme Legends expansion as a single game. Those that played the original game on the PS3 can also upload their save data to PSN in order to import into Complete Edition on another platform. All versions of the game were released on March 25, 2014 in North America.

    Additions

    Along with content added to the four primary storylines (Wei, Wu, Shu, and Jin), the game introduces a fifth storyline focused on Lu Bu and his allies. His story is expanded upon with the introduction of new playable characters, including his daughter Lu Lingqi and his strategist Chen Gong. The Wu faction also features a new player character in the general Zhu Ran.

    The game also brings back challenge modes seen in previous Dynasty Warriors games. The challenge courses include:

    • Arena: A series of battles against rival officers.
    • Inferno: A challenge to defeat all of the enemies on the map as quickly as possible.
    • Rampage: A challenge to defeat as many enemies as possible within the time limit.
    • Bridge Melee: A battle atop a bridge, the player must knock as many enemies as they can off without falling.
    • Speed Run: A challenge to make it to the end of a course as quickly as possible.
