I had this itch lately to go and visit my Mega Drive (that's the proper name for the Genesis yo) days, but it doesn't feel right with a 360 controller. I've got an arcade stick which is better but doesn't quite cut it. I thought about getting a old controller and a usb converter but getting a 20 year old controller in a decent condition is not an easy task. However I stumbled on those RetroLink replicas which while they look cool I kinda have my doubts about their build quality. Have any of you duders used those?

I get the feeling that you are looking for a pc controller. Madcatz fightpad is your best bet.

@sarriss: Surprisingly, the 360/PC ones are abit hard to find in the UK, at least at a reasonable price. However the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia has me fixated on the Retrolink ones because they look exactly like the original article. Anyhow, those are probably too good to be true, is the d-pad on the madcatz fightpad good?

@stete: the dpad is fantastic. The retrolink dpads wear out easy and feel cheap in hand. The form factor of the controller is very much the same as a megadrive 6 button controller. If you find the fight pad for a reasonable price jump on the opportunity. I do understand if you have trouble finding them, I sometimes do to and wait for them to get put back on but its so worth it.

My sister and her husband SWEAR BY THIS. I've been trying for YEARS to get my sister into emulating SNES games and she's hasn't tried till she gotone of these controllers. I actually bought her a PS2 controller and a USB adapter and that didn't get her into it, but this was so easy she feels like it's second nature.

I think it's cool, but I don't mind using a Keyboard to performer King of Fighters super moves.
