Video Review - Fire Emblem Heroes
Fire Emblem Heroes is one of the first games in Nintendo's initial wave of mobile titles. Unlike Super Mario Run, which opted for a one time purchase price, Heroes adopts the gacha model popular in Japan in games like Puzzle and Dragons. The basic mechanics of the Fire Emblem series make the transition smoothly but with smaller maps that fit nicely onto a phone screen and low unit counts which keeps match times south of 10 minutes. The bite size conflicts are great for gaming on the go but the gacha model can be frustrating to players not in a market where it's already established. The crux is that players will send in-game currency to get randomly generated characters with different rarity values. The problem is that the game is littered with different currencies which do things like level up heroes, unlock abilities, and gate access to battles. Where to get each resource and what they do is poorly explained and difficult to keep track of. For more info, check out the VIDEO REVIEW.
