M1911 Back in BF4

I was reading the new list of all the available achievments in BF4 that can be found here: http://bravointel.com/2013/10/04/battlefield-4-achievement-list-leaked/

When I saw an achievement called ".45 Old School" - Perform 45 kills with the M1911 Handgun in Multiplayer

Does this mean that the .45 will be a stock weapon in the full release or is it going to be in a battlepack or DLC? Or Am I just stupid and this was confirmed a long time ago and I didn't know about it. Has anyone SEEN the .45 in game in the beta or elsewhere?

The M1911 is in BF4 vanilla. All classes can unlock and use it.

I wish DICE would stop putting pistols in their games.
